In this world of non-stop rushing about, it is nice to find a place to gather one's self and catch one's breath. Foster Center Baptist Church is such a place. It is a place where you and your family can come and worship with others who love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a place where you can regain your perspective as well as receive confort and God's guidance in the midst of life's storms. At Foster Center Baptist Church, we teach God's Word; the Bible. The Bible is our doctrinal statement and the foundation on which we have built our lives. We believe that it contains the answers to the most important questions in life. Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? Most of all, we believe that the Bible points the way to Him who is the Answer to all of life's questions: Jesus Christ. It is through Christ that we have forgiveness of sins, restoration of relationship with God the Father, and full and meaningful life, here on earth and in eternity. Friend, we invite you to come and visit us soon and let the love of God enfold you and let His word guide you in your busy and sometimes hectic life. Have you ever felt that something is missing in your life?
Maybe you’ve been looking for a relationship to fill some kind of void inside of you. But somehow, no relationship ever seems to fill that hole. You’ve been searching for someone who’s real and something’s that right, but you just can’t find the missing pieces.
That’s because there is a relationship that you were created to have. In the only book God ever wrote, you can discover the relationship you’re missing. The Bible says, “All things were created by Him and for Him.” That means you were created by God and for God. You won’t be complete inside until you belong to Him. The one relationship you can’t do without is a personal relationship with the One who created you.
You don’t have this relationship because you’ve run your own life. You were created for Him, but you live for yourself. The Bible says that is a problem. Your sins have cut you off from God. You don’t have a relationship with the One you were made for because sin (or running your life your own way) has created a gap between you and your Creator. You’ve taken a life that was supposed to be lived for God, and you’ve spent it on yourself. There’s a death penalty for hijacking your life. It’s separation from God now and forever.
You see, there’s no amount of good things you can do to get to God. Your only hope is if God comes to you. The good news is…He has! You can have a relationship with God because of what Jesus did. God’s book says, “Christ died for sins to bring you to God.” You did the sinning, but Jesus did the dying on His cross. Because He loves you, Jesus paid the death penalty for every wrong thing you’ve ever done. Then He rose from the dead three days after He died.
What you do with Jesus is the most important decision you will ever make. Ultimately, this is a relationship you must choose. God did His part when His Son died for you. Now it’s your move. You need to turn away from a life being lived “my way” and turn to God in total trust.
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” Believing in Jesus is like a drowning person grabbing for a lifeguard and saying, “God, I’m pinning all my hopes of forgiveness and rescue on You.” Have you ever done that with Jesus?
This relationship can be yours for life and forever. You can belong to God from today on if you will tell Him with all your heart something like this:
"Lord, I’m sorry for running my own life. I’ve been living for me. I resign as of today. I believe your Son, Jesus Christ, paid my death penalty when He died on the cross. I’m turning from a life of “my way” and I’m putting all my trust in Jesus Christ to give me a relationship with You and to get me to heaven. Lord, from today on, I’m Yours.”

ABOUT US
Church History:
Foster Center Baptist Church is an old, established neighborhood church, dating from January 1881. At that time, the 30' X 40' building was called Foster Center Christian Church. The dedication of Foster Center Christian Church was held on October 31, 1882.
Around 1927, the congregation, having embraced Baptist Beliefs, joined the Rhode Island Baptist Convention. In 1965, the congregation chose to separate from the Convention and the American Baptist Churches USA to carry on as an independent Baptist Church.
Recognizing that the Church is a universal body of believers in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and with Him as the Head of the Church, we seek to carry on and further expand the work of the gospel begun by our forefathers in the building dedicated on October 31, 1882.

Foster Center Baptist Church is a Spirit filled congregation who celebrates the Lord with a liturgical service.
