Foster Center Baptist Church
"Sharing Christ and Encouraging
Spiritual Growth"

Church History:

Foster Center Baptist Church is an old, established neighborhood church, dating from January 1881.  At that time, the 30' X 40' building was called Foster Center Christian Church.  The dedication of Foster Center Christian Church was held on October 31, 1882.

Around 1927, the congregation, having embraced Baptist Beliefs, joined the Rhode Island Baptist Convention.  In 1965, the congregation chose to separate from the Convention and the American Baptist Churches USA to carry on as an independent Baptist Church.

On October 23 and 24, 1982, Foster Center Baptist Church celebrated its 100th Anniversary.

Recognizing that the Church is a universal body of believers in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and with Him as the Head of the Church, we seek to carry on and further expand the work of the gospel begun by our forefathers in the building dedicated on October 31, 1882.

Our Church Service:
Foster Center Baptist Church is a Spirit filled congregation who celebrates the Lord.  We value the tradition of hymns, as well as worshiping the Lord with Psalms and Spiritual Songs.  We encourage all our members (adults and children alike) to be actively involved in church life as well as community service.

Service Times:
Our church service is held Sunday mornings at 9:00 am.  Child care for children ages birth through Kindergarten is offered during this time.

Sunday School:
Sunday school for children, youth, and adults is held each Sunday (September-May) following church service.  Sunday School will be during the church service.  Our Sunday School classes focus on reading, learning and practically applying the Word of God, fellowship and sharing with our brothers and sisters, and prayer.
